PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The UCI CPFP in Psychological Science offers postdoctoral research fellowships and faculty mentoring to outstanding scholars in all fields whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to the diversity and equal opportunity at the University of California. These contributions may include public service addressing the needs of our increasingly diverse society, efforts to advance equitable access to higher education for women and minorities, or research focusing on underserved populations or understanding issues of racial or gender inequalities.

The program seeks applicants who have the potential to bring to their academic and research careers critical perspectives gained through their educational background or their

understanding of the experiences of members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education in the United States.

AWARD AND TENURE
The award is a one-year fellowship in residence at the UC Irvine campus, renewable for a second year, dependent on satisfactory performance. Only one UCI Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowship in the department will be funded at a time; applicants will be considered every other year, contingent upon funding availability.

SALARY
As of 2022, starting salary is $55,632 annually, plus benefits. In addition to salary, $5,000 will be provided for research‐related and program travel expenses. This funding can be used flexibly during the term of the fellowship for purposes such as research support, research equipment or research related travel expenses. The selected Fellow is also eligible for all of the Presidential Postdoctoral professional development and the UC hiring incentive programs.

ELIGIBILITY
Eligible applicants must hold or receive a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in their field from an accredited university before the start of their fellowship/appointment on July 1. Successful applicants must present documents demonstrating that they are legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and work authorization is possible for successful applicants, a process which would be managed by the International Students and Scholars Office with the support of the UC faculty mentor on their home campus. Individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program are encouraged to apply.
