Professor Silver Receives Two Awards

2010 Public Advocacy Award from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, which is given for outstanding and fundamental contributions to advancing social understanding of trauma, and

2011 Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest (Senior Career) from the American Psychological Association

ISTSS is the world's premier international, multidisciplinary professional membership organization specializing in the field of traumatic stress. The award was given to Silver at the annual convention in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on November 4, 2010.

The American Psychological Association's Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest "recognizes people who have advanced psychology as a science and/or profession by a single extraordinary achievement or a lifetime of outstanding contributions in the public interest." Professor Silver will be presented with the award at the APA 2011 National Convention.
